Happy Days!

Happy 3 Months Old!!!!

Today Shyler is 3 months old. Here she is during her morning nap. She got her arms out and had a short nap because she wakes herself up. She looks so precious when she is asleep, even if it's a short nap. Those are some of the times when you just want to stare at them and not get anything done!

Happy Birthday Grandpa!

Yesterday was Tim's dad's birthday, we had a delicious dinner at the Cheesecake Factory to celebrate and it was very yummy!!!! I had a picture of Shyler and her Grandpa from last night, but I deleted it on accident. But here is a picture of Grandpa putting Shyler in a grocery bag after she peed while Amanda was changing her diaper. He wanted to make sure she didn't drip on his new carpet. Tim was just going along with it all.

Shyler and her local boyfriend Wyatt. He's 2 1/2 weeks younger than her. Amanda and his mom Melanie like to hang out together, go on walks with the little ones and do craft projects together.

Wyatt totally putting the moves on Shyler (He did it all by himself). He also likes to try and suck on her arm and hold her hand. Sorry Wyatt you have a few more years before you can do that.

They wouldn't look the same direction at the same time, silly babies never do what you want them to do when you're taking their picture.

Fun With Friends

Shyler ready to go on a trip to Fort Collins. Too cool!

Here are some of the many babies that were at Shannon and Sterling's Graduation party.
From left to right: Lexi and Nate Lund, Tim and Shyler, Cooper and Erica Andrews, and Andrew and Stacey Taggart. Cooper's got a finger in his mouth because it was nap time and he wasn't really interested in smiling for the camera. Poor guy.
It's too bad we all don't live next to each other anymore, but at least we have our blogs!

Here are some of our friends that were at Sterling and Shannon's Graduation Party. From left to right: The Miller's, The Brink's, The Read's, Half of the Tucker's, and the Holman's. Poor Valerie, I feel your pain of wanting that baby out of your belly!

Shyler and Amanda ready for church. She had on her cute little shoes and everything. It's too bad that not too far into church she pooped out of this outfit. Babies are good at that!

Today she is 12 weeks old!! She's getting so big and time is just flying by. She has been a real blessing in our lives. We love when she smiles and makes cute noises. We love when she falls asleep in our arms, we just love her! It's funny that people mention all of the that cute stuff, and fail to mention the other things babies do. For example, peeing on the changing pad when you're changing their diaper (last night to Tim), pooping out of outfits (yesterday at church), crying and screaming (everyday), spitting up all over you( multiple times a day), and not holding still when you're trying to trim their finger nails (last night, Amanda drew a little blood. Shyler was really not happy after that one.) But despite all this, we love her to death and enjoy each moment we have with her and are so thankful that Heavenly Father has blessed us with this sweet spirit in our lives.

Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day! Here are Tim and Shyler getting ready to go to church on Mother's Day. Luckily we have 1 o'clock church and we get to lounge around all morning and take our time getting ready. This was after making Amanda a yummy breakfast for Mother's Day of course.

This bear is the first present Tim got for Amanda, he gave it to her for Christmas when they were still dating. The bear was one of Amanda's favorite presents Tim has given her, besides being such a wonderful husband and loving her so much. But, Shyler is the BEST gift he has given her.

This is Shyler's gift to Amanda on Mother's Day. She apparently wanted to get her something special and homemade... Poop it was!
Gross!!!

We hope you all had a great mother's day, or treated your moms to a great day!

Happy May and 2 months!

Last weekend we went to Fort Collins. Unfortunately we didn't take any pictures, but we had a great time and we were so excited to see so many people this trip, especially at church. The Cache La Poudre ward definitely has something in the water, there are babies everywhere! It was funny to see so many car seats around the chapel!

Here are Lexi and Shyler. On Tuesday, April 29, Dre and Lexi drove up for a visit. It was fun to see them both and it was fun for the two babies to meet. Hopefully that was the beginning of a beautiful friendship :)

This is Shyler in her little rocking seat. She never really liked it, she does tolerate it for like 10 minutes though. When she was little little we would put her in it when she slept.
This her little self at 8 weeks and then the bottom is only 1 week old. She's gotten so big and tall!

Today was also a big day for Shyler. Since she will be 2 months old tomorrow she went to the doctor this morning. She weighed in at 10 lbs 11 oz and was 23 1/4 in tall. She is like 85% in length and 50% in weight. We are proud of her getting our tall genes, we just hope it keeps up ;) Then came the sad part, 5 shots! It was so sad to hear her cry, but luckily Tim did a good job of comforting her and calming her down.

Happy May, even with the Colorado snow!

7 weeks

Yesterday Shyler was 7 weeks old! She's getting so big. At the breast feeding support group she weighed in at 9 lbs 15 oz, she's pretty much a 10 pounder.

Most days after she eats she gets time to play and she loves to play on her little rain forest play mat that Great Uncle Bob and Great Aunt Karen got her. She is getting good at hitting the black and white cat looking thing because it sings to you when you hit it. She also LOVES to stare and bat at the orange and purple butterflies that hang down.

This weekend will be another big one for Shyler as we make our way back up to Fort Collins. We plan to take her to her first track meet at CSU on Saturday and then to church on Sunday so she can meet some more of our friends. So if you are reading this and you're in Fort Collins, make sure you call or go to one of those 2 places so we can see you!!!!

1 Month Old

On Thursday April 3, Shyler was 1 month old! On Friday we took her to get pictures taken. We went to the Target portrait studio and it wasn't too bad. Very cheap, and we even got in on some pictures with her.

(Amanda trying to be a photographer, but this was her outfit)
On Monday Amanda took her to a breastfeeding support group they have at the hospital and we weighed her, she's up to 9lbs 3 oz. She's getting so big!

Not much else is going on in our lives. We are in the hunt for a house to buy and are anticipating that next big event in our lives. We hope it will happen so we can move towards the end of May, but we'll see. We hope you all are doing well!

The end of a long weekend

The bride, Andrea, Amanda and Shyler
This past weekend was quite the experience as Amanda was in the wedding of her friend Andrea. It was an adventure as we tried surviving the schedule of a bride to be and a newborn. It worked out and luckily Shyler was ok taking a bottle. By the end of it all we were tired and glad to be home and back into our regular routine.

Daddy Daughter Dance
At the reception after the Father danced with the Bride they had another special dance. They played "My Girl" and had all of the fathers and daughters dance. This was Tim and Shyler's first dance. It was very cute!

Great Grandma Irwin and Shyler

Our last stop on our way home was a visit to Shyler's Great-Grandma Irwin. She was really happy to see Shyler for the first time, as were all of the other ladies that saw her.

Shyler in her Blessing Dress

Yesterday Shyler was able to be blessed. She was a good baby and didn't cry or make any noises while Tim was giving the blessing. She wasn't asleep as planned, but at least she didn't cry. We were lucky to have many friends and family there to witness such a wonderful occasion in our young baby's life. If you notice how she is laying in the picture you will see that she doesn't like to look straight up, she always rotates onto her side, silly baby.

4 weeks old

Today she is 4 weeks old!!!! We can't even believe how quickly time has passed. People keep saying she looks so tiny, but for us who look at her everyday we can't believe how big she is getting. She also got to try out her swing for the first time.

Happy Easter

For Shyler's first Easter she got an easter basket filled with candy, stuffed animals and 101 Dalmatians the movie. She was excited. Amanda took her around while Tim recorded her first egg hunt around the living room.

Here we are all ready to go to church with our little angel. She got a pretty pink dress from Grandma and Grandpa. Her tights and shoes were a little big, but they still worked. Luckily she didn't mess up her dress at all and she got to wear it all day long.

Shyler got this little bath robe. It is still so big for her, but she looks so cute after her baths when you wrap her up in it. It's been nice because then she doesn't have to stay warm in a damp towel.

Grandma Miller with Shyler

Really all that is going on with us still getting used to having a baby in the house with us. It has been difficult to start out, but as the days are going by we think we are getting the hang of it better and things are going well. Tim has gone back to work this week which has presented a new array of challenges for Amanda getting used to being home all day with Shyler. All is going well for us and even though there are challenges, we seem to be making it through them and every time we see her it makes all the challenges worth it. We are sooooooo thankful for all the help we have received recently from family and friends, it means the world to us and thank you so much, you have made this transition much easier for us. As more things happen we will try and keep you all up to date!!

First night

Our first night at home. Here is one more picture we just took and you can see all of her hair and her pretty eyes!

She's here

She's here!!!!
Shyler was born on Monday at 11:40 am after mommy was induced. She has lots of pretty brown hair and blueish eyes, for now.
Thing's went well and the 3 of us are now at home. We're working on lots of things expecially the lack of sleep. We'll get more pictures up soon.
For now this is the announcement that Amanda's mom made for us!

Still here!!!

Amanda took this one herself, but this is at 38 weeks, big, round, and uncomfortable!

Just so you know, we are both still here, and it's still just the both of us. Amanda is impatiently waiting for the baby to get out of her! She can't wait to get it out of her! Today makes 9 more days until the due date though. She finally looks pregnant and is not a happy pregnant lady. Any of you men that have dealt with a pregnant wife probably understand.

This is Amanda's Valentine's Day card to Tim. She took the idea from Denise, she tried to make it look cute, but she is no Denise ;-)

One day Amanda was bored and curled her hair and put make-up on and took pictures to put in the card/book thingy. This is one of the pages with lyrics to a song on the other side. It was fun for her to try to be creative and tell Tim how much she loves him!

On Friday we went to Salt Grass Steakhouse for a Valentine's Dinner. We both splurged and got steaks, even Amanda who has probably ordered a steak 2 times in her life now! We also got dessert, a piece of to die for cheesecake with white chocolate and strawberry sauce drizzled on top. Definitely worth it! We also went to a movie and saw Fool's Gold. A cute movie with Matthew Machanehey (or however you spell that) and Kate Hudson. We figured that it might be the last time we can do that and not have a child to worry about, so we took advantage of it.

Amanda has been a little bored waiting for the baby to come. She's hasn't been working and normally would enjoy the time off and the freedom except that the suspense is killing her!!! She's been trying to keep the house ready and get all of the baby stuff ready. Other things she does are craft projects, reading lots of baby books, and looking for a house for us to buy in April or May hopefully, but there is nothing like waiting for something when you have no idea when it will be here!!! Hopefully the next time we remember to blog it is about a new little baby girl. And you all can finally learn her name!!!

Some of her cute clothes waiting for her to come so we can wash them and she can wear them

5 weeks or less....

Amanda officially has a countdown going. She is at 36 weeks and ready for this baby to get out of her. According to the doctor he will induce if she is a week late, so do the math, we have at most 5 weeks left until our little one joins us, hopefully less. She is getting more uncomfortable with back aches and those Brackston Hick's contractions, luckily Tim is a trooper and is very supportive.

Things are going well, today was Amanda's last day of work, Tim took Daddy boot camp class so he should be even more prepared and we got baby walkie talkies this weekend (most people know them as baby monitors, but to Tim they are baby walkie talkies)! I think we're ready...are you ever?

Other exciting news is that we got a video camera. We've been talking about it for a while and we finally just went and bought one the other night. It's a Sony HandyCam 108DVD. Tim has been playing with it, but we'll let you know how we like it. It's not a super fancy one and it's been easy to use so far. We just hope we are able to record some of our baby's first moments, and take it with us on trips, or wherever else.

She's a She

On Friday Amanda went in for her regular appointment to see the doctor. He measured her a little small and wanted to have her get an ultrasound to make sure the baby was ok. Well we took that as a perfect opportunity to double check that she is a she....
(You can sort of see the arrow pointing out the obvious area)

The baby measured at 4 lb 12 oz and is at 34 weeks for the gestational age, maybe she'll be early, (Amanda can only hope). So with 7 weeks left the two of them are doing great.

Also on Friday Tim got to go skiing at Breckenridge. With all of the snow they have been getting it was some of the best skiing he's seen in a while. He was knee deep in powder, but of course him and Derek forgot the camera.

Saturday Amanda and the baby got spoiled at a baby shower. It was a fun time and Amanda was glad to see some of her friends and the baby is excited for her cute and fun new stuff.

Here are the people that were able to make it

One of the gifts was a CSU cheerleading outfit from Kat, Go Rams!

Thank you to those that were able to come and for the wonderful words of advice and presents!

Happy New Year

We hope you are having a wonderful new year!! We spent the last night of 2007 hanging out with our friends Tyler and Shannon. We went to Chili's when Amanda got off work, played games, and rung in the new year with sparkling cider. Then we went to sleep, well Amanda slept and Tim stayed up watching a movie.

Amanda went to the doctor for her 32 week check up and is still growing. Everything seems to be going well and we are excited to see our little bundle of joy in approximately 8 weeks!!!

Last night we got to go to the Nuggets game, they were played the defending champions, The San Antonio Spurs. It was a fun early birthday present for Tim and his sister Karen from their parents.
Us smiling after a close finish and a Nuggets win!!

Tim's Uncle Mel excited over the victory!!! He's a true fan!
